Frequently Asked Questions

Latest technology combined with an excellent cost-performance ratio characterizes Arkitech LGS framer systems. In addition, the many contented clients world-wide are a testimony to an extra ordinary understanding for customer requirements and an excellent customer service.

Individual projects and objectives require their individual framer solutions. Based on provided project information Arkitech’s experts are always pleased to provide customer-optimized proposals, based on their long-term experience. For more information please visit Arkitech Framer page

Single and multi-profile framer are commonly used for many kinds of LGS projects. The modest investment with a focus on mass production of one specific profile web size characterize the advantage of a single profile framer. The multi-profile framer has the advantage of a range of multiple profile web sizes for a much wider variety of different projects accompanied by a correspondingly higher investment.

The production speed of the framers depends on the types of produced frames, walls, trusses, joists, etc. In average the following production speeds can be assumed: wall frames 600 – 700 m/h, trusses 300 – 400 m/h and joists 250 – 350 m/h.

Arkitech Design Software (or third-party design software) and Arkitech Framer are so optimally coordinated that the individually labeled profiles are always produced according to the frame structure.

The priorities to produce the individual frames can be freely selected according to the upcoming construction site work of the project.

Sustainability: LGS construction, there is less waste than with all other types of construction and steel is also almost 100% recyclable, which leads to a considerable reduction in the impact on our natural resources.

Quality: LGS has a high strength with a lower weight compared to other building materials and steel is a durable material that enables high accuracy and low tolerances. This high quality of the material facilitates the work on site and minimizes any defects.

Time and cost: The production and construction time with Light Gauge Steel construction is significantly shorter than with other construction methods, so that projects can be completed more quickly. This also reduces the overall construction costs in terms of labor costs and rental of the equipment.

Flexibility: LGS offers a high degree of flexibility in the design phase of the architecture of a building and, if necessary, also for any required subsequent adjustments or replacement frames required.

Yes, multi-storey buildings can be built with LGS. The maximum number of storeys depends on the structure of the building and the applied loads. The integrated statics calculation of the design software enables you to select the necessary steel thicknesses to comply with the national requirements

Residential houses, multi-storey buildings, prefabricated offices, bathroom pods, warehouses, modular constructions, worker accommodation units, multifunctional containers.

LGS constructed buildings are more environmental friendly, more flexible, faster in realization and still in compliance with all quality requirements.

S220 (220MPa) to S550 (550MPa) galvanized steel metal sheet is used generally.

No, the steel frame material is already zinc coated (galvanized)

Yes, it is possible. The insulation and cladding materials are selected according to the requirements of the sound and thermal insulation in LGS constructions.

Mostly fiber cement, gypsum board and OSB for the cladding and rock wool, glass wool and membrane foil for insulation. However, there are many different other types of cladding and insulation materials.

The structure is earthed to the ground and LGS building is safer than other buildings against lightning, since there are so much steel members which diffuses lightning energy and takes the energy to the ground from multiple points.

Yes, same plan drawing can be converted to LGS system by choosing appropriate sections of steel.

Yes, LGS buildings are designed according to the applied loads of earthquakes and snow loads. The light weight and the strong connections of LGS structures result in minimal damages from seismic forces. Additionally, braces within the structure provide sufficient lateral stability.

Yes, it is possible. Individual steel frames can be re/designed for specific areas in the building.

Yes. A foundation is required also for LGS systems but on a smaller scale compared to other types of construction methods. Generally, raft or strip foundations are preferred for LGS structures. Uplifts caused by wind may occur more easily due to the light weight of the LGS buildings. Thus, it is necessary to place appropriate anchorages to fix the frames to the foundations

For Arkitech LGS Systems we recommend Arkitech Design Software. Additionally, design software solutions of third-party providers like StrucSoft MWF, Vertex BD and Tekla Structures are also compatible with Arkitech Framer systems. Besides there are also further design software solutions.

When purchasing an Arkitech LGS system solution, Arkitech provides training for Arkitech Design Software and Arkitech Framer Software to the customer.

The Arkitech Design Software includes also the Arkitech Structure Analysis Module, which enables the user a certified static calculation based on common AISI codes or Eurocodes:

  • AISI S100
  • AS/NZS 4600
  • Eurocode 3, Part 1-3
  • IS 811
  • BS 5950, Part 5, 6, 7

AISI and Eurocode 3 building codes can be chosen in the Arkitech Design Software.

Only one operator is needed to operate Arkitech Framer.

Within 30 minutes the operator can change the profile for an Arkitech Multi Profile Framer.

Arkitech offers standard and also customized solutions according to the requirements of the customer.

Arkitech Framers can be used 24 hours per day without break.

Yes, that is possible. Arkitech Framers contain a remote connection Hardware and Software to do diagnostics for any error.

Not at all. All 3 designations are describing the same technology, they are only used more common in certain regions.
